Sarah Perkins Guebert is a freelance translator, writer, and certified ESL teacher in Spain with a Master’s in Spanish language and literature. Although she was born in Maryland, Sarah has lived in six states and visited almost forty! With a passion for traveling and a powerful wanderlust, she has traveled to over twenty countries and hopes to visit many more.

Sarah first traveled abroad in 2013 to Nicaragua as part of a relief project. Since then, she has taken an avid interest in humanitarian work. After graduating from college, she moved to Spain and has lived there ever since. Some of her favorite cities are Edinborough, Athens, and the ruins of Pompeii. However, she prefers to be in nature, whether it be in the mountains, forest, or on the beach. Her favorite places in Spain are the islands of Tenerife and Mallorca, especially for a warm vacation during winter break!

In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her dog, binge-watching cooking and true crime shows, beating her husband at video games, and reading way too many books. She also enjoys going out for tapas on the weekends with friends. When she isn’t working, she loves exploring the different regions of Spain and discovering their hidden gems.

In the past, she has taken part in several research projects, presented her work at various conferences, and led a teacher training seminar in Madrid. She has an avid interest in Hispanic science fiction, as well as Japanese and Russian literature. Currently, apart from writing, she is working on professional development and doing translations for nonprofit organizations. In the future, she plans to dedicate more time to humanitarian projects.
