Stephanie Vargas is a Mexican language teacher and traveler. She started learning English as a teenager and has never stopped. Stephanie realized that languages give people different perspectives and ways to see, think, and appreciate people around the world. That is why she focused on learning English, Portuguese, and deepening her Spanish knowledge. Therefore, at a young age, Stephanie decided to become a language teacher. She teaches English and Spanish at private and public schools in Mexico City.
At 20 years old, Stephanie had the opportunity to travel to Europe. After speaking with people from different countries using either English or Spanish, she realized that languages and traveling were her “tools” to see the world. Stephanie received a scholarship to go to the US three years later. There, she would improve her English proficiency with native speakers. When Stephanie returned from her trip, she knew that she would forever continue to learn the language.
Stephanie majored in English, teaching at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, one of the most important universities in her country. She has taught English as a foreign language, mainly to teenagers and young adults. Stephanie has also taught Spanish as a second language to the Chinese community in a private school. Sometimes, she forgets why she is a teacher. Yet when Stephanie sees her students progress, she immediately remembers why she loves her job. Her goal is to travel as much as possible and see different perspectives on life and learn from others regarding linguistics, teaching, languages, history, and life.
