Top Kuwait Tourist Attractions

Despite the fact that Kuwait is a small country, Kuwait has some of the most dazzling places in the world. From visiting some of Kuwait’s best historical sights to sightseeing the astonishing architecture that the country has manufactured, this article will talk about the top Kuwait tourist attractions:  

Kuwait Towers:

The Kuwait Towers were inaugurated in 1979. There are three towers, each located on the shore of the Arabian Gulf. Each tower is especially significant in its own way. The first and main tower contains two separate spheres. In the lower sphere, there is an international restaurant that serves different cuisines from all around the world. The upper sphere has a café that is constantly turning a full 360 degrees, allowing tourists to best view Kuwait from above. Next to it is the second tower, which serves as a water tank. The third tower acts as an electricity hub that undeniably helps in illuminating the surrounding area. Kuwait Towers represent Kuwait’s economic resurgence and are a tourist landmark.     

Souq Al-Mubarakiya:

Souq Al-Mubarakiya is the oldest market in Kuwait that best portrays Kuwait’s history in today’s modernized world. The souq is located at the heart of Kuwait City. It offers an in-depth look into Kuwait’s heritage and way of life. The dazzling Souq Al-Mubarakiya consists of different shops that sell a variety of things, such as dates, fruits, and vegetables, meat and fish, and even fabric. Moreover, different authentic Kuwaiti restaurants are located at Souq Al-Mubarakiya. These allow tourists to experience the taste of authentic Kuwaiti food while looking around. If you want to travel back in time to witness the simplicity and beauty of Kuwait’s past, then Souq Al-Mubarakiya is clearly the right place to visit and explore!

Al Shaheed Park:

Al Shaheed park is without a doubt the largest urban park in Kuwait. Recently opened, the park portrays Kuwait’s history and culture. Within the park, there are multiple attractions like the dancing fountain, a few restaurants, a museum, and some sculptures, including two great monuments that honor Kuwait’s history. The Martyr monument is dedicated to the lost souls of the brave men and women that lost their lives during the Iraqi invasion. The Constitution monument celebrates Kuwait’s constitution. Al Shaheed park is one of the greatest attractions in Kuwait. Tourists can enjoy visiting while also learning about Kuwait’s history.     

Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmed Cultural Center:

“The Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmed Cultural Centre (JACC) was named after his late highness Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmed Al-Sabah, the thirteenth Amir of the Al-Sabah family and third ruler of Kuwait after its independence. He remains as one of the most beloved and valued figures in Kuwait’s history. The JACC  is a multidisciplinary public space that strives to entertain, educate, and inspire the people of Kuwait. JACC was built with the purpose of exploring Kuwait’s past, cultivating its present, and imagining potential futures,” (The Cultural Center).

The JACC is one of my favorite Kuwait tourist attractions. It serves as an opera house that undoubtedly hosts some of the best names in the world of music, art, and theatre. Visitors can also enjoy the different tastes of more than fifteen restaurants located in the cultural center. 

The Avenues:

The Avenues is one of the most famous shopping malls in Kuwait. It consists of hundreds of shops that sell whatever your heart desires or your life requires! Not only does the Avenues consist of global shops, but it also has two cinemas, two hotels, a gym, two grocery stores, hundreds of restaurants, multiple pharmacies, and other amenities that best serve shoppers. The Avenues has different themes to enhance shopping experiences. Some shops portray Kuwait’s past while others illustrate today’s urbanized world. If you’re looking for a great shopping experience, the Avenues is the greatest place to be!
